Singapore Standard Code of Practice for OAE Activities (SS 710:2024)
SS 710:2024 was published in 2025 and launched at the NOEC 2025 in April. Owned by Enterprise Singapore (ESG (opens in new tab)), the inaugural code of practice was co-convened by Outward Bound Singapore (OBS (opens in new tab)) and the Outdoor Learning and Adventure Education (OLAE (opens in new tab)) Association.
It provides guidance to help OAE activity providers deliver safe, meaningful, and educational experiences in five key areas:
1. People — who is responsible, and what competence is expected of programme supervisors and activity leaders.
2. Risk and emergency management — how risks should be assessed, managed, and responded to.
3. Places — whether activity locations and facilities are suitable and ready for use.
4. Equipment — whether equipment is appropriate, sufficient, and properly prepared.
5. Participant information — what safety information should be shared before, during, and after the activity.
