Co-chair (Private)

Dr. Tan Lai Yong, a medical doctor and community advocate, is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the College of Alice & Peter Tan, NUS.

Co-Chair (Govt)

David Chua, the Chief Executive of the National Youth Council (NYC), is committed to expanding developmental opportunities for young Singaporeans.

The OAE Council: 1st Term Council Members

Reporting to the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY), the 19-member OAE Council is an advisory body comprising government agencies, private sector providers, outdoor practitioners and relevant experts from academia, industrial safety and professional development.

Updates:

• 28 July 2023 - Mr. Mohamed Sayadi Bin Mohamed Nor was appointed as the 19^th OAE Council Member in the ex-officio capacity as MOE Deputy Director of Physical, Sports and Outdoor Education Branch (PSOEB).

• 9 Nov 2023 - Mr. Eddie Foo, Deputy Director for ActiveSG North, was appointed to replace Ms. Delphine Fong as Sports Singapore's (SportSG) representative.

• 12 Dec 2024 - Mr. Shane Kwok, MOE Director of Physical, Sports and Outdoor Education Branch (PSOEB), was appointed to replace Mr. Krishnan Aravinthan as MOE's representative in the ex-officio capacity.

Council Sub-Committees

The Council has organised the work into three distinct areas: Standards and Certification, Professional Development and Safety, Compliance and Promotion. Each of these areas is led by co-leads who oversee the respective sub-committees, ensuring effective management and coordination within each workstream.
